Pros

Coming from working at the who's who agencies of the industry, Rauxa offers many pros that other agencies simply can't. If you have great ideas, self-awareness, desire to succeed and can follow a project through to the last detail, you will be successful here. I think many times people are dissatisfied with their work environment because they lack the will to make their experience what they want. Rauxa, and any other company for that matter, isn't going to adapt to you. You have to find a way to adapt to your company, while staying true to what makes you successful. At Rauxa, you have just that opportunity. For the first time ever, I'm seeing strong, smart and independent women leading initiatives. I'm also seeing everyone from the intern to the CEO ideating and having their ideas valued and taken into consideration. Everyone has a chance here. It's up to you how you decide to capitalize on the opportunity or not. Rauxa is very much an entrepreneurial environment, with big agency clients and ideas.

Cons

If you aren't a self-managed, self-starter who is scared to offer up your opinion in a diplomatic and convincing manner, you will not survive here. This is not the place for someone that wants to sit back and be given a task list of to-do's.

    Pros

Remote work encouraged, highly intelligent staff, competent management team, interesting projects, in San Francisco, fun company culture, very nice people.

    Cons

Grim building, leadership team = working managers so not very proactive with basic HR processes.

    Advice to Management

Hold more reviews and 1-on-1 sessions with staff even on an informal basis.

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    - Good pay & benefits
    - Some decent talent
    - Some nice people

    Cons

    - Lots of show but not much substance
    - Very shallow and selfish people in charge; CEO sets the example and rest follow
    - Extremely cliquish environment - hard place for a new person to fit in - if you don't find a way there's no future for you
    - No training - just handed other peoples accounts and its sink or swim
    - Very hard place to trust people - they say one thing but do another
    - Revolving door on client services and account teams
    - Support teams - creative, data, social - they don't deliver on time or budget despite over quoting anyways
    - Little to no stability for clients
    - Not the work life/balance they promise - you're expected to work all the time (nights and weekends) without any consideration for your family or personal needs - and no thanks when you do
    - Just not capable of delivering - always over-promising and under-delivering
    - A value system that sounds good but isn't followed
    - Some departments insist on way too much process and other departments don't - but no one really follows it anyway
    - Very hard to keep client work going smoothly - you're expected to say yes first and figure how to make it happen afterwards and then punished when you cant
    - Stories from longer term employees - layoffs followed by celebrations followed by more layoffs
    - Very inconsistent treatment across departments and offices

    Advice to Management

    - Be honest with what you expect from new employees up front
    - Help them fit in
    - Don't over-promise and under deliver
    - Stop holding people to unrealistic expectations
    - Provide more support to new employees
