I have been working at Raytheon

    Pros

awesome opportunities for growth due to "booming" programs; ability to build skillset in multiple disciplines (i.e. contracts, finance, programs, engineering, etc.); international travel; opportunity to impact major economic and political decisions; company takes excellent care of employees on travel

    Cons

complex avenues for dealing with customers; general defense industry issues at the senior management levels; your ability to show your skills depends on the type of manager you have; fortunately, my managers are excellent so i am in a position to grow

I have been working at Raytheon

    Pros

You will find very interesting things to work on right out of school.
Tasks can be very broad allowing you to build a very good skill set very quickly (people will help you if you ask for help).
    Good work/life balance.
    9/80 schedule.
Painless commute (Tucson is not very crowded, you can reach working sites within 30 - 45 minutes).

    Cons

    Recognition is nearly absent.
Management always asks for more no matter what you do.
A lot of people have a wait and see attitude until you tell them what they need to do or you do the work for them.
There is a lot of people that think they know more than what they actually know.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Recognize people more.
Work harder to make work environment more enjoyable.
