    Pros

Relatively stable in a down economy. Great benefits compared to the private sector jobs. Great technology is being used and developed every day. Very good community outreach initiatives. The name Raytheon carries good weight.

    Cons

Trying to be a system integrator, instead of having control of the hardware. Moving away from designing and developing hardware. Moving towards generic hardware, with custom software. Large age gap with senior engineers is very difficult to overcome.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut the red tape and trim the process. It shouldn’t take 1year+ to get anything done. Empower the junior engineers and trim the middle managers. There is to many approvals needed to get anything accomplished.

    Pros

Clear focused mission to help and protect the soldier and bring them home. At the core we all are focused on a tangible mission to our armed forces.

    Cons

At times the hierarchical nature of a large organization can get in the way of performing in an increasingly agile market environment. Their size is both an asset and a liability.
