Raytheon – “Play the corporate game to win.”

Pros

There are lots of opportunities if you are willing to play the corporate game and follow stupid corporate policies. Once you get through all that and prove yourself, a whole new world opens up.

Cons

Even though they claim that promotions are skill based and not time based, I'm getting a sense that they are. Any time I ask about a promotion I get a response along the lines of "typically you have to be in your current position for X years" as opposed to "you need to be able to do X and do Y."

Advice to Senior Management

Do not treat everyone equally. Top talent needs to be identified and rewarded. Make sure smart people don't sit in their cubes and read digg and play flash games.
