    Pros

    Quality of Talented People
    Lots of Resources
    Supportive of Continuing Education
    Mature Company
Great place to START your career

    Cons

very VERY old workforce. If you're looking to advance in your career you better hope someone either retires or dies. Management is extremely old and seemingly works to protect each other. There is lots of young talent that walks out the door because they are tired of waiting around for promotions to never come. Who you know is much more important than what you can do. You might say that's true for all companies, but at Raytheon they seem to take it to a level of ridiculousness. Once you have certain levels of credentials or academic accomplishments it seems like no matter what you do you can't get let go. More than once I watched someone who was "above" me do inferior work that I could have done in my sleep.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People should be put in positions because they are the best at what they do not because of their job title or because of what degree they have or because they are friends with someone in management. Seniority should not get you a free pass.
