Pros

Raytheon is a very big company so your career can really be what you make of it. Each site and division is different. So you may have to be willing to move around to really grow. As with any big company, some sites are better than others. If you find a site that suits your skill sets and interests you can enjoy a growing career. Benefits are very good and work schedule is fairly flexible

Cons

It is easy to get stuck or pigeon holed into a particular program that may have dying technologies.

    Pros

The company has a good work-life balance and does not have a cut-throat culture. The company is huge and has lots of opportunities. Although the industry is going through rough times, it is still one of the more stable industries for job stability.

    Cons

The industry and company can be very slow moving in terms career and business. They have a lot of processes and red-tape which can stop movers-and-shakers. The bureaucracy can be too much sometimes and promotions are based mostly on seniority. Although, they have a good culture the company is made up of middle-aged white men.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change culture to better fit young employees. The bureaucracy keeps young employees down and scares potential young talent away. Make promotions more about performance rather than number of years worked.

    Pros

large company with large company benefits that is pretty much standard across all large aerospace companies.

    Cons

Mgmt style for EO divisions/centers were based on mgmt style from the parent Radar company back east, Raytheon's HQ, and is quite different than the way business was managed on the West Coast. Before Raytheon took over, business was better run when it was Hughes. Managers come and go rather quickly, based on whether upper mgmt likes them or not...
