Pros

A strong technology company with core strength in communications. Raytheon has been around since the 20's and is a strong defense contractor

Cons

It can be a bit soggy though but what do you expect from a defense contractor.

Advice to Management

Perhaps more programs that include social media will attract more talent. Also, you don't have to look overseas to find top notch talent to train. The bay area is full of local talent ripe for the picking.

    Pros

Interesting work, diverse locations and opportunities, particularly DoD related. Significant opportunities for growth in skills and training. Opportunities for travel to many US and international job sites. Strong reputation and recognition. Leading company with leading technologies. Great place to work for engineers, IT architects, project managers, etc.

    Cons

Many IT jobs require security clearance, Some jobs contingent upon government contracts and may go away when the contract ends. Career growth hard, in some cases, if you can't relocate to another city/facility. Some jobs depend on on-going contract funding by the US government, which seems to have issues recently. Effort expectations frequently exceed normal work hours.

    Advice to Management

Diversify more into civilian and non-government opportunities.

    Pros

9/80 Work Schedule (Every other Friday off)

    Cons

The "Forced Rating System" is used not allowing actual deserved performance ratings by supervisors (i.e. most great performers told they are doing fair only or unacceptable). there is forced employment reductions of employees over 50 years of age (their form of the movie "Logan;s Run"). Most managers are managers only with no experience about what their staff does (non-technical).

    Advice to Management

A new CEO with "christian faith" must make major changes to culture.
