I have been working at Raytheon as an intern for less than a year

Pros

Near full benefits for interns (including 401k).
As a summer hire, 46 hours of PTO are given in advance.
Pay is extremely competitive.
Options to work on projects right away.
Chances to obtain security clearances.
9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off) is brilliant.
The company is currently on the upswing after having some layoffs a few years ago, so its good to get your foot in the door now.
Overall positive atmosphere, with a good mixed bag of people from different disciplines/cultures

Cons

Lot of red tape, and managers are often out of touch with employees.
Average age for an employee is supposedly 47, so be prepared to be at least 10 years younger than everyone you work with.
A lot is expected of you, even as an intern. Be prepared to spend a lot of free time teaching yourself things; no one is going to help you with the basics here.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend some more time with new hires! When I first started I was pretty much dumped in a cubicle and was told "go". Fortunately I'm a pretty independent person, but I know plenty of people who would have floundered in this position.

I worked at Raytheon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I had the opportunity to make a real difference and was given the freedom to directly determine my own and my team success. Lots of senior people to mentor from and lots of young blood to provide energy.

    Cons

Pockets of legacy employees who still think it is Hughes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Walk the hallways and talk to people.

I have been working at Raytheon full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Excellent pay
    Great benefits
Management shows appreciation for responsibility and hard work
    Interesting and important work
    Comfortable work environment

    Cons

Since it is a "union shop", seniority counts more than hard work
"Legacy workers" just kill time until retirement
Lower management can be disorganized when setting priorities

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just because workers in another state work for less pay, too much rework of product negates the savings.
