I have been working at Raytheon full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

9/80 Work Schedule (Every other Friday off)

Cons

The "Forced Rating System" is used not allowing actual deserved performance ratings by supervisors (i.e. most great performers told they are doing fair only or unacceptable). there is forced employment reductions of employees over 50 years of age (their form of the movie "Logan;s Run"). Most managers are managers only with no experience about what their staff does (non-technical).

Advice to Management

A new CEO with "christian faith" must make major changes to culture.

I worked at Raytheon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Challenging work, bright people, competitive salary, generous benefits with opportunties across many organizations throughout the US.

    Cons

Managment is resistant to change, does not always respect opinions of employees and may stifle the career otherwise ambitious and talented employees to look elsewhere. Large programs may ramp down quickly leaving little choice but to downsize.

    Advice to Management

Try to respect opinions of new employees and allow them to choose thier career path. Provide sufficient resources for people to perform at thier best.

I worked at Raytheon full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Large company may provide you with career opportunities if you are willing to move. Decent overall benefits. Great workout facilities on site.

    Cons

Starting to be less commitment to employees and more to the bottom-line. Human Resource personnel are constantly changing so no personal attention to employees. Reduction in defense budgets affecting the stability of existing and new programs.

    Advice to Management

More commitment to individuals, not just more general communications to the masses.
