Raytheon – “My first job out of college....”

Pros

Had opportunity to do a lot of travel (as all the other experienced engineers did not have a desire to be away from family)
Starting compensation was a lot higher than many other offers I received at the time.
Everyone was pleasant to work with.

Cons

As an entry level, one can be easily stuck doing busy intern work...not a diverse work culture, mostly middle aged and old employees, more difficult for a young engineer to fit in immediately and have respect.

Advice to Senior Management

More diversity: add more young blood, better mentorship program, less corporate dogma, the Six Sigma should not be a burden but a necessity.
