Pros

Very flexible hours and schedule Depending on the groups, very good a fostering young talent Great Heathcare Benefits

Cons

Benefits and salary are based on the 'pension' model. If you're lucky enough to have made the deadline before they only offered 401k matching it's amazing. A hire to retire company. Having missed that date, I believe the cut of was 2009, it's tough to justify staying at the salaries they offer.

Advice to Management

Increase compensation Recognize talent outside of the LDPs Loosen HRs strangle hold on managers to move and grow talent

    Pros

Multinational company with many locations to work. Great pay and benefits.

    Cons

Engineers do not make the best managers.

    Advice to Management

Ensure off-site leadership/management have good people skills, not engineers with no social skills.

    Pros

Some great, congenial co-workers. Great health insurance. Some good managers.

    Cons

Terrible department management. They say new employees have a six-month learning curve, but they get angry at you after a few weeks if you ask questions. Some very pompous attitudes. Rewards based not on performance, but how much brown-nosing you can accomplish. Diminishing benefits. Very high-stress environment. This is causing health problems for many employees, but managers don't like when you have to take time off to go to the doctor's office. Women paid less than men in the same positions.

    Advice to Management

Don't promote people into management positions just because they've been there for a certain period of time. Promote based on a combination of experience and ability to manage, handle stress, and social aptitude. Pay attention to why your department has a very high turnover rate. It's not them, it's you. Recognize the holes in your leadership philosophy and amend them.
