I have been working at Raytheon

    Pros

    Pretty good job security
Opportunities for swift advancement if you really push yourself
Benefits of both salaried and hourly pay styles: guaranteed salary, but you can get "modtime" (aka comp time) or even overtime pay when you work over 40 hours in a week

    Cons

Work/Life balance could be encouraged more
Very talented individual achievers can be overlooked if they don't promote themselves well enough

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Former Employee - Senior Software Engineer in Andover, MA

    I worked at Raytheon

    Pros

Large company and plenty of opportunity to move . Salary. The work environment at the appropriate level. Committed to respect and diversity. The 9/80 work schedule. Internal Training and the access for employees for technical information. The availability of tools to perform the job.

    Cons

Matrix organization. Multiple levels of supervision creates an opportunity for confusion an who your customer really is. There are stil areas in the organization that are "stove-piped". Indivuduals can get lost and become over.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look for more diverse portfolio for those segments of the business that are "defense" centric and are supbject to downturns in defense.
