Pros

Amazing work atmosphere and culture. Not a bad place to launch a career in digital advertising and learn the ropes. No cap on time off and flexible work options once you've established yourself as a proven rep.

Cons

Little chance for career growth or upward mobility. Impossible to obtain compensation increase from corporate level.

I have been working at ReachLocal full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The customers and the internal relationships

    Cons

Salary, compensation, all products, Edge...Edge.... new sales structure with hunters and farmers won't work. The company is ripping people and customers off with huge 50% markup and crappy traffic moving away from Google.

    Advice to Management

Expect to have a lot more turnover move everything to inside sales for centralized management. Your local offices are corrupt with favoritism.

I have been working at ReachLocal full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun environment, young staff, fairly young company. There really is a great possibility to move up in the services side of the company if you are willing to wait it out. If not, you could easily get a job at another SEM type company with a slightly higher pay.

    Cons

Lack of compensation. Constantly adding new roles to the job without any increase in compensation. Managers are stretched way too thin and do not have the opportunity to manage effectively. Because of this, the product is suffering and weaker employees are continuing to be hired and get less and less effective training. There is also a fairly low morale among a few of the employees. I have never heard somebody bad mouth a company so much without getting fired. If they want to build morale they need to improve the perception of the position and get rid of the people who are openly constantly saying how much they hate their jobs.

    Advice to Management

Allow your managers to manage and stop hiring people who are clearly not qualified for the job. It is only hurting the company and the product. If new hires do not know how to use the product and make it better they are making it worse.
