I worked at RealPage full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The work was interesting and there was plenty of opportunity to learn new things

    Cons

No opportunity for advancement, management can't make any decisions themselves--it literally had to go all the way up the chain to the CEO to get anything approved. Raises are based off a fixed amount distributed over a team, so if you walk on water, you will get 3%, but a 1%-2% annual increase is most likely. Company culture is sick. Really sick.

    Advice to Management

Upper management--trust the people you hire to do their jobs and make decisions. Clean out the dead weight--there's exponentially more of thet here than any other place I've ever been.

I have been working at RealPage full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good Medical, 401k Match, possible to move up into management

    Cons

Lots of individual units that don't work together well. This is primarily because RP acquires several small companies a year and doesn't integrate them really well. RP is also in the process of replacing the current workforce of developers, QA, BA's and so on with a new cheaper workforce in the philippines. Basically, when someone quits here, their work goes overseas and no one is rehired in the US. What's happening because of this is that there is a heavy management presence in the US corporate office but few actual workers in the US. Most of the directors/vice presidents aren't former developers which doesn't work well as this is a software company.

    Advice to Management

Sheer of the director level of the company and add more project managers who are actual developers in their place. Stop hiring overseas, because this is causing resentment here. I'm having to work my regular 9-6 plus once or twice a week get online at 9-10 pm to work with people over there.
