Rearden Commerce – “Cutthroat Island”
16 of 17 people found this helpfulPros
It had promise at one time... but squandered. There is a compelling product that has garnered interest and usage from some very large partners. Large investments from AMEX and JP Morgan Chase.
Cons
Zero leadership, direction or respect. Senior management could not find their way out of a room with one door. There is no plan, not short or long term strategy.... just a good idea that as of now, does not make any money. Rather then focus on building a core business they just try to do everything. Most of all the place is toxic. There is no respect for anyone. Everyone is always trying to figure out who is going to get fired next. They cannot hold on to seasoned Execs and are unwilling to hire anyone with vision.
Advice to Senior Management
Hire a COO and replace all of the VPs with seasoned professionals.

I understand that in this economy, small companies must survive. However, cutting everyone's salary really is a punch below the belt.
Please be more conservative in describing the company offerings when selling to prospective employees and don't toot your horn trying to sell the company. If the people don't get it the first time, then something is wrong.
