Pros

Very Fulfilling. You know that you are making a difference in peoples lives and in your communities ability to respond to disaster. Everyone seems to truly believe in the mission and pulls together to achieve those goals.

Cons

Low pay is the norm. In most cases only those with other incomes or retirements can afford to work at the salaries offered. Creates increased turnover in some areas causing inexperience to be an issue.

To much change over too short a period of time. Leaves too many questions as to the future.

Advice to Senior Management

Be careful not to lose what works while trying to improve what doesn't.
