I worked at Red Lobster part-time

Pros

-Flexible schedule. You work when you want to.
-Family-like atmosphere between employees. You deal with a LOT of personalities so there's never a dull moment.
-You learn to take charge when you need something done and no one else is there to do it.
-You learn to maintain professional composure when talking to the most ignorant, hateful people.
-You get a lot of exercise and a good night's sleep.

Cons

-NO BREAKS!!!!!!!!!
-You do EVERYONE's job, not just your own.
-On a busy night, you will easily have too many customers to take care of and no one around to help, or you run out of some popular item, or have some kind of back-up in the kitchen, which leads to you taking a long time to fulfill requests and customers getting angry, complaining, leaving no tip, and maybe even getting you into trouble.
-The occasional perpetually unsatisfied customers who don't understand how tipping works but expect you to go to the moon and back for them (for free, basically)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Servers need to be able to communicate directly with other staff when customers need something the server can't help them with immediately. Servers waste a lot of time running back and forth looking for an available manager to help a needy customer. Managers are always busy or missing.

-Endless Shrimp... servers' worst nightmare. And 4-Course is impossible during volume hours. These options need limitations in place.

I have been working at Red Lobster full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Half off meals, flexible hours, easily request days off, anyone who works hard and has character can become a manager,.....

    Cons

They do not want to pay anyone. Labor is cut throughout the restaurant even when people are waiting in lines to be seated. You will always work ridiculously hard. Some days off you will have terribly sore muscles because you're used like a dry rag. Servers tip out to everyone. Managers are lazy and need corporate to tell them what to do. Serious micro-management. You will not do your job, but the job of others also. The work is back breaking no matter what job you apply for. This is at all Red Lobsters. They do not divide the work fairly. You will be taken advantaged of. Cooks, dishwashers, prep, servers, and linemen work like animals. They never staff for business. They always under-staff. Turn overs are insane and they don't mind because you're just another number. As long as labor is low, they don't mind training new people every week. They train you and you'll get minimum wage and be trained in less than 20 hours. If you get hired full-time, it's a joke. You'll never see it. You will work everyday for 4-5 hours. ALL DARDEN RESTAURANTS ARE RAN THIS WAY. The health benefits are high and useless. You must work full time to get benefits. Good luck if you're ever scheduled full-time. They are Fortune 500 because they step on the little man. Servers pay for their own uniforms and taxes take away any check from Darden. Tips in this economy is your only pay and you'll tip out everyone else as well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find God. It won't last forever. People are getting fed up with slave labor and mistreatment of employees. The day when Darden gets boycotted is near.
