A decent working environment, but be ready for stress.

Hostess (Former Employee)
Pittsburgh, PA

Pros-Paid above minimum wage at entry positions
-Fun working environment most of the time
-50% discount when eating by yourself, 20% when eating with a group

Cons-VERY strict about following policies.
(Wear buttons and name tag on shirt at all times, open the front door for all customers, black belt with shirt tucked in, only one piece of jewelry at a time, etc.)
-At times, there can be hostility between the hospitality team (hosts & hostesses) and the servers.
-Very busy on weekends (Usually around a 2-3 hour wait on Friday nights)
-Many aspects of the restaurant are geared toward children, so prepare for crying and screaming.
-Many of my requests for time off were either denied or forgotten.

I have been working at Red Robin

Pros: free soda, discounts on their ridiculous $10 burgers, the usual fringe… Cons: encyclopedias of information that you have to know about the company and relay to each guest, even when they obviously don't care. tables are crowded,… Advice to Senior Management: general manager needs a chill pill. i expect him to have an aneurysm one of these days… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
