Pros

You gain a lot of experience working different departments; very fast-paced and keeps you busy

Cons

The company doesn't care about it's employees and there is no room for advancement. Very little recognition at the Inn level. We had been without a manager for over 9 months and they bring in these floating managers and everytime they do, everything changes completely. They say they do things by the book....how many books are there?

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start listening to your employees. They can make you or break you. You need to start valuing your long time employees and quit finding reasons to get rid of them.

    Pros

    You can gain a wide range of experience in all departments and can grow quickly if desired.

    Cons

    Each property is vastly different and some of the busier properties lack the staff and time to train effectively.

    I worked at Red Roof Inns full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    1. Requesting Days off and schedule changes were easy
    2. Employees recieve travel vouchers for stay at any red roof for $25.

    Cons

    1. Wages are cap and pay increase is rare even with excellent performance reviews.
    2. Many of the on site security procedures do little to safe gaurd employees
    3. Many locations have only 1 person running the front desk, answering phones, and other in house issues.
    4. No lunch break if you are the only front desk clerk on duty

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Posting the same generic "We would like to thank all our employees" letter from a random executive. Procedures need to be put in place to confirm GM's of each property are actually performing their tasks and not splitting their duties into assignments for other employees. Employee moral is extremely important to
