Pros

The name. Regan Communications is a great name to have on your resume if you are looking to work in public relations in the Boston Area. Love him or hate him, George Regan is well known and well connected throughout the city. Their client list is also pretty stellar meaning you get to name drop on your resume.

Cons

Management is rude and disrespectful. People openly trash the company while at work and there seems to be very little loyalty among employees. Regan is also stuck in the PR of twenty years ago. They have little to no focus on real social media and don't do much to teach lower level employees.

Don't intern here if you have had any meaningful work experience in the past. It will just be a waste of your time.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you walk into a section of the office filled with your employees, say hello. It really doesn't take that much effort.

    Pros

The company has a very well established reputation, and working there is great for anyone's resume if you are going to school in Boston.

    Cons

Like any internship, there are days where you do nothing, and there are days where you do a lot. There is no balance. Also, the location is brutal for most college students.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to include the interns more in the day-to-day activities of the firm, although I understand the complications of that because interns are part time.

A great place to start, but don't stay too long

    Pros

Very talented collection of individuals, Great accounts to work on, Instant credit when working with others in the industry, A great place to learn early in your career

    Cons

Senior Management not connected to the account work being done, Senior Management gets involved at unnecessary times, Hardly recognition for good work unless a favorite of Senior Management, Senior Management does not have any concept of workload, Lack of emphasis on work-life balance, Below average compensation, No review or salary increase procedures, Business side not run well, Agency stuck in the stone ages without new and innovative thinking

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is not the privilege to work at Regan that you seem to think it is. A lot of talented individuals walk out the door because of the treatment of employees. Additionally, the PR industry is changing. If you don't begin to change with it, you're going to fade away.
