I worked at Regions Financial full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Learned some valuable knowledge about the banking and financial industries.

Cons

Horrible local management. Vast discrepancy in pay for same positions/experience/education.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote people based on aptitude and performance, not randomly selected "chosen ones". I saw many qualified employees passed over for positions in favor of less competent choices, who were friends of management.

I have been working at Regions Financial full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The company has great values and does truly put the customer first. Although the management talent and overall morale for each dept varies greatly, Regions as a whole has a lot of talented managers and makes great efforts to instill the Regions Values amongst it's employees.

    Cons

Regions doesn't compare to industry standards in the compensation category. Benefits are a lot less than compared to pre Regions/Amsouth merger.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your people what they deserve. You get what you pay for and the general consensus between Regions employees is that you must leave the bank, go to work for BBVA Compass or another top competitor and then come back in order to get a pay increase.
