if you have a good work ethic, you can remain in the same position for a long time. you just have to maintain the status quo and not rock the boat.

Cons

ambitious individuals will find it much easier to move up if they leave and then come back. the phrase 'pigeon hole' comes to mind.

Advice to Senior Management

a truly talented employee just might be even more talented in another position, especially if they desire to grow professionally. a loss to one department just might be a much greater gain to another one and to the company as a whole. a job is performed...a career...molded.
