Pros

Excellent benefits (401k matching and employer contributions), tuition reimbursement. Overall, the people were great. In my department if you did your job, you were treated well.

Cons

Almost zero room for advancement or professional growth. Promotions seemingly happen only if there is a vacancy or else you are essentially stuck in your position.

Advice to Management

Offer some guidance for lower level people on what they should be doing in order to have any chance of furthering their careers.

I worked at Reich & Tang Asset Management full-time

    Pros

Management is kind and nicer than probably anywhere else in finance.

    Cons

The apathy. For example the company is letting go 10+ people due to restructuring however I have not seen the CEO even once this summer. He usually spends it at one of his many homes far away from the office. The only exec that is continuously at the office is the CFO. It seems that every other upper management individual just takes off when it suits them to "work from home" however you'll quickly find out that they are unreachable from home.

    Advice to Management

Work....and show your faces to your employees
