There are more cons than pros.
You think you might be helping customers but really they do not care
.Stay here for a a for 1-5 years then go to a more structured company like Aarons

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring back incentives for non salary employees instead of tiny gift cards for employees that stores have to pay for
Give out more sick time
fix intolorable vacation freezes
fix how vactions are not allowed to be taken 2 weeks in a row
or right after another coworker
how about stop ripping off customers
be more family friendly/bet the turn over rate would not be so dramatic

    I worked at Rent-A-Center full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Paid weekly. Fast paced and never a dull moment. Great training and experience in running a business. Good opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

No work life balance due to the 50 hour work week schedule. Pressure from upper management gets excessive at times and they use borderline threats as tactics to try to get you to achieve some number that you are already trying hard to achieve anyway. This causes some employees to do questionable transactions. Also, I saw too many store managers who have worked hard to get where they get are get fired but they won't let that same manager fire a customer account rep who obviously can not do the job no matter how much training you give them. Rent a center is not for everyone.

I worked at Rent-A-Center full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Take home pay was decent
My store manager knew what he was doing and treated us like people.

    Cons

    Standard 50 hours a week.
Customers were extremely rude even we were offering a solution to a problem.
To many hours spent on conference calls.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less time talking about a plank just trust your store management team to execute a written plan. 3 conference calls a day gets in the way of sales.
