Current Employee – been working at ResCare
Pros – Received some good experience
Good training offered on a corporate level
Cons – Raises are minimal, if given at all
No opportunity for career advancement
No consistency from upper management
Very reactive company - need to be more proactive - spends so much time handling the crisis of the day, that good workers are virtually ignored
No incentives
Respect and Care - it's a good line, but not put into practice by upper management when it comes to the employees
Advice to Senior Management – Corporate seems to be very disconnected from what's going on in the field. When corporate staff visits the various programs, they should make more of an effort to talk to the employees, not just the managers in that program. PD's will always try to paint the rosiest picture. Employees will be more honest.
Management on the Workforce Services side is weak. There needs to be more accountability of mid-level and lower-level management. Employees with poor or mediocre performance are rarely written up (its always blamed on poor training), while the hard workers pull the majority of the weight and are virtually ignored. Appreciate and respect your employees. A happy employee is a productive employee!!
Companies typically try to promote from within. ResCare will do this, but will pay someone off the street more for the position than they will offer the current employee who is being promoted. Isn't this backwards? You know what you're getting with the current employee. Why not reward them for their hard work? There's too much red tape in getting promotions approved, and the pay increases are insulting. Some people have actually made less with a promotion, than they would have to stay in their old job and just take their annual merit increase. That's unfair, and provides absolutely no incentive to advance within the company.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
