Current Employee – been working at ResCare full-time for more than a year
Pros – +Flexibility - I am able to work as little or as much as I prefer as long as I push the idea
+Working one-on-one with patients
+Not under constant supervision - you are in the home on your own.
Cons – -Poor management - the staffing co's at my branch tell lies to patients/clients AND employees to worm their way around staffing/scheduling issues, tasks we are not allowed to perform, etc.
-Low pay - I've been with the company over 2 years and only make $9.00/hour, the mileage pay is awful (maybe $50/check full-time)
-No PTO or vacation days, no way to accrue pto or vaca time
-You have to work holidays unless by the grace of God someone will fill in for you on Christmas
-No options for advancement
Advice to Senior Management – Please take into consideration that your field employees are THE MOST vital part of your company. Without us, there would be no profit to be made. Please pay your employees more and give us the same opportunity for time off as the office employees are given.
