Research in Motion – “If you are being abused, go to HR/OD before your VP does”

Pros

Good to put on a resume, lots of money being thrown around. Good if you want to travel all the time. Great if you love answering email at 3am, in order to get your word in first, which seems to be how you are evaluated.

Cons

You can be abused by senior management, including screaming, and having general office supplies and various desk items thown at you. You may not receive training, feedback, support or communication at all. You may be stabbed in the back in what can be a toxic organization with incredible politics and cliques. You will never, ever be away from work. They give new meaning to always on, always connected. There is no work life balance; they own your soul.

Advice to Senior Management

Don't yell, and throw things at your employees on a regular basis. Get rid of VP's who do.
