Pros

Company culture is fantastic. From the top down, it's an open door policy. Smart direct response mentality. The senior management team is hyper-focused on the ROI of the accounts taken on by the company. Strong entrepreneurial spirit throughout. Overall good people within the walls of the company.

Cons

Open floor plan can make it tough to concentrate at times. Can be a little too loose, requires real self discipline to be successful here.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Structure and process has been added over the past year, and that has been helpful. Continue down that path, without sacrificing the free thinking that is fostered.

    Pros

RMI is an excellent place for an intern, or recent college graduate starting a career in interactive marketing. They are not afraid to give you responsibility and you'll get valuable experience and skills quickly. They have good clients and good teams of self motivated employees working on their clients. After separating from two large accounts in 2009 the company has rebounded. RMI's growth could make it an exciting place to be in the next few years. Employees and alumni of RMI are seen in the Atlanta marketing community as talented and capable. The office is nice inside and is fairly laid back. Depending on your department and arrangement with your supervisor, there can be a good work-life balance when compared to other agencies.

    Cons

Just like other reviews in 2009 the senior management team. Some senior management people have moved on since 2009. RMI senior management in general are hands off (good and bad). Good because you are not micro managed. Bad because you receive little feedback of how you fit into the big picture of the company. Too often a short notice all company afternoon meeting occurs with some new announcement or company change that completely catches employees off guard. The ownership relationship with BKV is weird. Most employees don't even understand how the BKV RMI connection works and does not like talking about it. While RMI appears independent from BKV, it actually is not. The company also has a tendency to promote with title changes over salary promotions. Many good employees that are not senior management are recruited from other competitive agencies in Atlanta.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be humble. There is a tendency for senior management to personally take or accept credit when they didn’t earn it or do the work. Junior employees aren’t dumb. This is worse when done in all company meeting settings. You need to find ways to keep employees longer. Be open, honest & communicate with employees.

    Pros

Relaxed work environment, little to no supervision, flexible work hours, great exposure to all aspects within online marketing and advertising, relaxed dress code, pet friendly, strong client list, and strong parent company, BKV.

    Cons

RMI senior management is completely unaccountable for anything. They rarely are even in the office, and when the senior management is there there is a lack of communication. It is hard to even understand what any of the senior management team does on a daily bases.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

become more accountable, develop a coherent company philosophy, be more open with employees, reward employees based on performance, audit worker performance, audit management performance, lead by example, and most importantly come to work!
