I worked at Restoration Hardware full-time for less than a year

Pros

40% employee discount, though most employees couldn't afford the stuff anyway.
Beautiful work environment

Cons

Absurd amount of corporate motivational brainwashing
No guaranteed amount of hours
Bullying from management

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You are selling furniture. There are plenty of positive sweeping statements you can make about the impact of good design on people's home lives, but you aren't "changing the world" by selling mid-quality furniture made in China, and your employees of the month aren't "Real Heroes." Firemen are real heroes. Employees of the month are employees of the month. Calling store managers "gallery leaders" doesn't change the way they bully sales staff and micromanage. Make real changes, not just semantic ones. There is a reason this company has such absurdly high turnover.

I worked at Restoration Hardware full-time

    Pros

Some of the people who work there (the ones who do all the work, really) are great people.

    Cons

The (former) CEO Gary Friedman set up a culture of ego that has trickled down throughout all departments.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of Gary once and for all.
