    Pros

    High quality product
    Better than average clientele
    Decent discount on merchandise

    Cons

Management makes life miserable.- This is the only Major issue. But it's a Very big issue.
Attempts to resemble corporate environment by using office-speak. (e.g. touch base, 1 on 1, etc)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop treating everyone like they're worthless.
Inspire creativity and friendly competition between coworkers, don't pit one against another)
Gary seems to be doing a decent job. It's middle management and the VP, Demonte Price, that are brining it down.

I have been working at Restoration Hardware

    Pros

"People first" is one of their core values to attract people to work for the company. Low paying jobs. Good benefit packages but only if you are full time.

    Cons

Once employed then you realized it;s not easy to be full time with benefits. If managers don't like you they will dangle that in front of you until you decide to give up and leave because you weren't given enough hours. You are at the mercy of the managers and yes you can show that you are competent and able to do the job but if you are not willing to suck up to them then you will be treated unfairly. The fact is because managers have to do a lot of sucking up themselves, it's expected of you to do the same. There is no job security here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers need to have a good sense of fairness and resist power trip that blinds you from making the right decision towards your eomployees. Try to see that it is people's lives you are dealing with.
At the same token if very inexperienced managers are put in the position of power then it is hard to have wisdom or the courage to stand up for what is right and more good people will leave.
All in all this company doesn;t care about their employees, they are just numbers to them and the only numbers they are concerned with are the profits that are lining their pockets.
