Pros

Great industry accounting/tax experience. Expect heavy collaboration and teamwork. Also expect to learn a multitude of file/data sharing platforms.

Cons

Doesn't seem to be much in the way of potential promotion at the corporate headquarters. However, it is possible to move out of the headquarter to one of the lead shop financial positions.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reconsider your hiring budgets based on qualitative, subjective information from managers/directors rather than trying to assign a monetary value to each function within the tax/accounting departments.

    Pros

The people I work with directly are great and we all get along. There's a great camaraderie among the group. Work times are flexible as long as you put in your hours. Benefits package is fairly good compared to other companies.

    Cons

The individual business groups struggle to provide high enough margins to sustain the money thirsty corporate overhead; making them each look unprofitable and unsustainable. Upper management doesn't understand how to analyze problems and asks the average-joe worker how to solve them. Then they make the average-joe worker do all the work to accomplish the changes without accepting responsibility for the project. That way, when the project inevitably fails, they are not to blame. Certain workers do not take pride in what they do and are a parasitic plague to have in the office - coasting and spending all day browsing the internet, making personal calls from their desk phone, or staring at their desktop wallpaper. Meanwhile, other workers are expected to pick up their slack and fix the careless mistakes the slackers have made on their projects. Everything has to be done faster, with less resources and less time. No time or money is given to improve processes or software to make life easier. It's all about putting out the fires as quick as possible without looking at the root cause. The whole thing is idiotic.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you ask for help, listen to the answer. If you really want things changed, understand that you'll need to make compromises to accomplish them correctly and the FIRST TIME. Consider allocating funds, people, and time to invest back into the company - upgrade the surroundings, upgrade the software, upgrade some of the people's pay checks. Reduce the corporate "tax" on the individual business units and you'll find that they'll become more profitable. Instead of burning out your employees by making them accomplish unreasonable tasks in an unnecessarily short amount of time, consider hiring additional people or interns to assist where possible.

    Pros

Rexnord is a great place to learn and sculpt your work experience and tools as the environment can be very challenging.

    Cons

The work load was excessive at times. Hours were borderline ridiculous and did not match up with pay. A reasonable work/life balance is unattainable by seemingly everyone. Other people have mentioned, "clicky" and I agree with that statement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand that not everyone would prefer to be at work than at home. Staying at work for the sake of being there is counterproductive.
