I worked at Reynolds and Reynolds

    Pros

    Only work here IF:
    (1) You can't find a job anywhere else.
    (2) You're straight out of college and every other employer requires experience.
    (3) You LIKE micro-management.
    (4) You're not liberal.
    (5) You're white.

    Cons

    (1) "Big Brother". Tracking of location (even going to the bathroom!); monitoring of websites, emails, and phone calls; etc.
    (2) Lack of respect. Unless you're management (and don't get me started there!), your opinion means absolutely nothing. Even when you're told it does. And if you work in a department that doesn't directly bill clients, you definitely don't matter.
    (3) Lack of praise. Receiving awards is entirely political, and people in the "lesser" departments don't get awards often.
    (4) Lack of pay. For someone straight out of college - sure, it's okay. But you're never compensated for experience. NEVER.
    (5) Bad training. The software education department means well, but...
    (6) You're expected to eat in the company-provided cafeteria - going out for lunch more than once every couple of months is frowned upon.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Step into the 21st century! The company was founded in the 1970s, and it's very obvious. No employee's going to be a "lifer". Start respecting your employees before they reach their 20-year anniversary, and they might actually stay longer than a year or two.

I worked at Reynolds and Reynolds

    Pros

Good base salaries for sales positions and almost a monopoly on the industry. Lots of smart people working there since you basically have to score well on an IQ test to get in the door. Good initial training for sales reps and looks good on a resume if you're interested in building a career in software sales.

    Cons

Very rigid corporate culture makes it a tough place to work and makes this a tough company for clients to do business with. After the initial training, there is little available to further learn what is a very challenging product to sell. Lots of distrust of sales people too.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    loosen up!
