I have been working at Rhode Island Hospital

    Pros

Great work/life balance. Good people who have been there a long time. Reasonably competitive salaries in the realm of academic research. Very good benefits package.

    Cons

Very silo-ed with multiple layers of beurocracy. Seems to have a commitee for everything, and you need to get approval for everything. The job you start with is most likely the job you'll retire with if you choose to stay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Empower your employees to make the right decisions. Offer career paths for all levels for those who wish to advance.
