I worked at Richards Group as an intern for less than a year

Pros

-Relaxed atmosphere, can wear jeans, listen to music
-Lots of really smart, passionate people
-Still has a recognizable name

Cons

Seems to be falling behind compared to some "Madison Avenue" agencies ...
Not much pay (typical for an intern)

I worked at Richards Group full-time

    Pros

Reputation, central location, some very good and talented people

    Cons

Very political, not an arena in which you feel open to express dissenting opinions or even any opinions, if an intern
Silos, not much sharing amongst coworkers
Terrible feeling of distrust, especially when one is tracked to see when you have arrived in the morning (have to punch in right at 8:30 am and punch out), time sheets due every day or there is a fine, etc.
    Oppressive corporate culture

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stive to create a more open, flexible, and relaxed--it fosters creativity
Train interns, take a special interest in them, they may be the employees or clients of the future
Take constructive criticism and make changes, make people comfortable with sharing their views, whether they are conforming to the status-quo of the company or not
Hispanic agency Richards/Lerma needs more native Hispanics and speakers--there is a level of understanding about the Latino culture that is more readily reached if you have more native Spanish speakers and Hispanic/Latino employees

    Pros

Fun environment. Great benefits. Great management. Relaxed. Pay is good. The location is excellent. The days just fly by. Plenty of time off to start.

    Cons

Stairwell meetings can be a drag to get to, even though you always leave smiling and laughing.
