    Pros

actually its a fairly simple sales job. There is not much more for me to say positively as I was very happy to leave. Just typing to hit the word minimum at this point...

    Cons

management does not care about its people. Training was weak and often a waste of time. They basically just throw you to the wolves. Meeting are almost as useless as the trainings as most people just like to hear themselves talk.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your sales people. Develop more team building, within both your current location as well as regional locations.

    Pros

MSPs are among the few business segments actually growing.

    Cons

Inadequate tools to do the work e.g., laptops are >5 years old running XP with 1 or 2 GB RAM small hard drives and can barely run email and ticketing system let alone the number of apps necessary for troubleshooting. No lab servers for troubleshooting. Stupid rules, e.g., can't hang standard reference materials on walls ONLY certifications, can't hang coat on back of chair.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to learn the business from reports, meetings and conference calls and get in the trenches with the soldiers. Stop selling managed services until you can actually deliver on promises or redefine what promises can be kept e.g., monthly offsite backups, up to date anti-virus (AVG 9 as of this review), intrusion detection services that don't exist. Stop hiring inexperienced field techs and have experienced techs mentor the ones worth mentoring. Purchase the tools and software techs need to do their jobs effectively. Don't inflate numbers i.e., don't count printer technicians as part of network service technicians. Customers will learn quickly how many techs are available and whether their technicians are minutes away or four or more hours away. Learn new metrics i.e., counting closed tickets, number of calls taken, avg. speed to answer are nice, but not a true measure of what's happening in the trenches.
