I worked at Rimes Technologies

Pros

The Work life Balance is reasonable
They provide snacks to keep you entertained when you are bored to death with the work you have. Which is basically all the time.

Cons

Terrible management that constantly lie and backstab employees. They show little respect and its all about the bottom line
No professional development or long term growth
No real promotion opportunities. Constantly fighting to get your voice heard. Have to be in close with senior management (ie, work as a slave) to have any possibility of moving up.

Wouldn't recommend this place as a place to work at all. Are far better companies in the same sector to work for.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen, respect and reward your employees who often do a great job with very little guidance or help from senior management.

    Pros

They are located in SoHo and very close to public transportation to all parts of the city and outer boroughs. They provide snacks to offset any later in the day hunger pangs. Some of the management team are pleasant.

    Cons

Do not believe anything management will tell you. Even though, New York is the official headquarters, the "marching orders" comes from London. The heads of departments are located there and they dictate policies and procedures from London. They will blatantly lie to the employees. Additionally, the management will request that you work overtime without compensation or recognition.

I worked at Rimes Technologies full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good group of people from a diverse background. Being a small company you get exposure to many different aspects of the business. Opportunities to travel. Good place to learn a wide range of soft skills. It's good working at a company where you know every one.

    Cons

Poor internal communication and lack of a visible strategy. Company is trying to transition from small to mid sized and this has resulted in a very top heavy company this combined with poor communication makes it quite political. Pay at entry level is very poor, but it does improve after time. Many of the top position recently have been filed externally.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more open. Improve communication. Pay graduates better. There are many smart people at Rimes that are undervalued, change the compensation so that it is more inclusive to get everyone pulling in the same direction.
