I have been working at Rio Tinto full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Great benefits, decent pay, great vision from upper management, great support from upper management.

Cons

Mid-level managers are inept and have been placed in their position, no job specific training at all, ran on tribal knowledge at the mid-level.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide MUCH needed coaching and training to mid-level managers.

I have been working at Rio Tinto

    Pros

    Good atmosphere
    Good pay
    Great benefits
    Friendly employees
Guaranteed salary increases so long as you're working hard
Great place to advance a career in management

    Cons

Lots of bureaucracy, it can sometimes be difficult to figure out who to get in touch with regarding questions you may have about something.

Can be hard to advance in your career in something other than management as they have entry-level positions that dead-end after only a couple advances.

Very large company, you often don't know who anyone is above your direct supervisor.
