I have been working at Risk Management Solutions full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Some coworkers can be not bad. The pay is reasonable

Cons

- Office politics very bad
- Bad diversity and unfair hiring practices, Managers have teams all from their own countries.
- Diversity makes it hard to make friends outside of own ethnic group.
- Managers play favorites and do not advance those they did not bring in them selves
- Not receptive to new ideas or tech
- Very hard to find another job as skills are not easy to apply to other jobs, very narrow field
- Working for the insurance industry is not rewarding

Advice to ManagementAdvice

- Get some new peoples to work senior positions, old peoples are having very much trouble taking in new ideas and wanting to do things they do not understand.
- Let project managers do their jobs and manage projects, managers have too big egos and do what they want to regardless of process
- HR is strangled by senior management who are all friends from CEO down to entire VP level, take responsibility for delayed and late projects and punish those that make it late

I have been working at Risk Management Solutions full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

+ Management does not know what you are doing so you can mess around all day and they won't know
+ The Bay area is full of other tech companies to work for

    Cons

+ Management is unwilling to embrace new tech
    + Infighting
    + Demographically odd hiring practices
    + Politics are crazy
+ Not set up to meet people and make connections, people are uninterested and unmotivated to talk to their colleagues
+ Managers play favorites and then bad talk employees after they are gone, calling them trash, even the ones everyone remembers as being great
+ Cannot deliver anything on time or up to spec

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

+ Add 360 degree ANONYMOUS review process and convince employees that there will be no reprisals and that it is really anonymous
+ Make yourselves as accountable as you make the people you scapegoat into taking the blame for being late and incompetent
    + Quit

I have been working at Risk Management Solutions full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Relevant product, interesting research. Tones of support from its parent company DMGT. DMGT is a newspaper company based in the UK so it seems odd that they own RMS.

    Cons

Owned by DMGT (really a newspaper holding company). DMGT CFO formerly worked for a Tabaco Company and was responsible for growth of these sales in Asian and Africa.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

How can you have a person who was responsible for selling a product known to kill people at the helm when RMS (the subsidiary of DMGT)?

It is really a shame that such talented people can turn there cheek to this.

Executives fire a bunch of people before bonus time to line the their pockets.
Compensation is high because of a high attrition issue they have not been able to stem for years.

CEO inherited the leadership role from his father. RMS is his playground.

Their internal marketing team buries these messages but look through them all and you will see the recurring theme.
