a disorganized mess

Store Manager (Current Employee) Bay Shore, NY

Prosinteraction with customers and associates, decent pay

Conspoor quality of life, poorly trained middle management, lack of appreciation for store level associates as well as a lack of appreciation of store level challenges from both middle and upper management, poor replenishment system and even worse distribution system.

Advice to Senior Managementstart spending money on store staffing rather than endless promotional materials (half of which ends up in the trash), train middle management in interpersonal skills, do time studies for tasks that are rolled out to stores, think new initiatives through so that there aren't myriad revisions required to each, be a little creative instead of following the retail herd (ie. wellness+ and store hours).

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Rite Aid - pharmacy's equivalent of Titanic? maybe not anymore

Pharmacist (Current Employee) New York, NY

I have been working at Rite Aid full-time for more than 3 years

Pros: -1199 Union benefits - medical/dental/rx + pension after +5 years -Getting better as a company despite the poorly planned merger deal with Eckerd -New wellness store format… Cons: -Sometimes stressful working conditions esp in busy pharmacy. -Alot of the front end people don't like their jobs and are often times understaffed. -Lower pay if in… Advice to Senior Management: Don't fire everyone over every offense. Maybe have a 3 strikes warning but to fire hard working pharmacist who have been loyal to the company… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
