Robert Half – “Can't wait to quit.”
Pros
If you are interested in working in sales and would like the potential to make a lot of money, Robert Half could potentially be a good place for you to work. I don't work in sales; however, so this doesn't really count for me. Another good reason to work for Robert Half would be that your potential alternative is to be homelss and living on the streets. It might be a good place to gain a little bit of expeirence, but really they don't leave you with any transferable skills, so it's not worth staying very long or else you will eventually be unmarketable.
I guess another good reason would be to make contacts and find another job.
Cons
It can be cutthroat. They don't pay for overtime if you are an hourly worker (which I take to mean they expect you to work for free if you can't get your work done in a normal work day). If you are not a sales person and don't make the company money, you mean nothing to them. There is limited room for growth. There is no HR department, so if you have a complaint, you'll likely have to report it to someone you know very well and who is friends with whoever you would like to complain about. There is no accountability, everyone is looking to shift the blame for mistakes on everyone else.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in your people. Train them and act like you want them to succeed . Give up on the 'every man for himself' policy because it's not working. Stop rewarding people who are mean, pettty, abusive, gossipy. Stop thinking that you can be friends with everyone and start being managers. Stop bogging everyone down with so many administrative processes that we can barely do the jobs that we've been hired to do. Stop having meetings. Just stop. We could be working instead of talking, and then we really would be more productive.
