I have been working at Rock-Tenn full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Can't think of a single pro for this company

    Cons

Terrible culture where the leadership talks about treating their employees with respect and the reality is the complete opposite. In the time that I was there as a middle level manager I rarely experienced respect in meetings, demands, requests, with high level of disregard for life-balance. I even attended a meeting with Rubright in one ocassion where he was yelling at a Director. While Smurfit had a great culture, that leadership was all let-go and RockTenn's "culture" remained.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat people with respect! Learn from the old Smurfit - or whatever is left since you disintegrated that company.

    I worked at Rock-Tenn

    Pros

    Atlanta is a nice city

    Cons

HR -uncaring, cut-throat. Threatened to fire plant HR personnel if they were 'caught assisting employees w/benefit or hr questions'. Emps MUST learn these things on their own

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to care again. Employees, like children want to be appreciated and respected. They will work with more enthusiasm and loyalty if you just show a but of care and respect. You get what you give.
