May be too big for it's own good and sometimes it takes a while for the system to work, like with IT help for example, it might take a awile to find the right person to get the problem fixed.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

    - salary is fairly competitive compared to peer companies - a good blend of technical and business aspects in my current role

    Cons

    - lack of clear direction from Senior Management at times - lots of good people cut during recent rounds of cuts

    Advice to Management

    - be more clear in the strategy that ROK is taking, or at least communicate it to employees more effectively

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

I worked in IT at Rockwell, and had really great customers. They were demanding, but fine so long as they got what they needed done, done right, the first time. My coworkers were helpful and cooperative, and always willing to help out if there was some unfamiliar technology or bug to fix. During my time there, I had timely raises and lots of good feedback, although the last couple of years were a little tight on the funding.

    Cons

Senior management doesn't have a lot of respect for the perceptiveness of their employees. One week they'd issue a statement saying we were doing really well and needed to give it our all, then the next week there would be a bunch of layoffs. The best people were leaving in droves before getting laid off. A few too many people have been promoted past their comfort level - although the ability to advance in the company is a plus, sometimes they don't know when someone is at their highest competency level. The transition to a new ERP has not gone smoothly, and has eaten up a lot more resources than was originally anticipated.

    Advice to Management

Your employees know a lot more about what is going on than you give them credit for - be more upfront about the true state of the company, don't try to hide reality behind 'let's be a team' announcements when people are losing their jobs.
