I worked at Rockwell Collins full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Global company with an extensive internal network of talent. People are friendly and the work is challenging and rewarding.

    Cons

Not particularly receptive to ideas that aren't born within the Company. While it works hard at a culture of "inclusion," diversity in thought and experience is not well tolerated by tenured employees and much of senior leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take an active role in the retention of your new talent; you need them to fuel positive change and to create productive, external networks of information and expertise.

I worked at Rockwell Collins as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

    free parking, coffee and donuts.

    Cons

extremely poor culture/management with no backbone - only care about the numbers
policies and procedures are laughable because very little is enforced
very frustrating for contractors to work alongside full-time employees who abuse cell phone use, apparently its permissible if they are good friends with a lead or supervisor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

listen to employees who do give a sh*t!
can the dead weight that keeps good contract workers from getting hired!
do the right thing by hiring hard working contract workers and stop playing games.
