I have been working at Rodale full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

For the most part friendly people, good benefits, flex schedule depending on who you work for.

    Cons

Getting promoted and increase salary tough, office politics as in any corporate atmosphere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rodale should establish a mentorship system or some way to help people grow and move up in the company. Employees should be able to review their managers, encourage and give incentives for employees to receive professional training that will help them move up in their careers.

I worked at Rodale as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Best organic cafeteria in the world, lots of healthy resources, flexible hours, alternative health care (acupuncture, massage) & free exercise classes.

    Cons

Toxic management environment, no growth opportunity, and weird company politics that come from managers and exec's being at the company for 20+ years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a B12 shot, SMILE, look people in the eye, learn some people skills, and recognize potential when you see it.
