Can be stressful at times and lacks in employee development programs.

    I worked at Rogers Communications full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Employee discount on Rogers services
    Employee stock purchase plan
    Pension
    Decent benefits - health, dental & vision
    Reasonable job advancement opportunities

    Cons

    Strategy changes way too often causing lots of uncertainty within management
    Dedication, loyalty and hard work are not valued/recognized
    Products/services are quite often rushed to market in order to beat or keep up with competition thereby creating sub-standard products that quite often get very negative reviews with a negative impact to company image
    Employees are not in the loop on products & services and therefore cannot be good ambassadors for the company
    Employees fearful for their jobs due to constant restructuring
    Atmosphere is tense and sometimes unfriendly due to job uncertainty
    Outsourcing job functions (IT, Customer Service) which goes directly against what Ted wanted - a Canadian company for the Canadian people!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stick with a strategy for more than a year and give it time to work
    Be patient
    Take a really good look at your management - there are some bad apples out there
