Great globally, but US is a backwater within the firm.

I worked at Roland Berger as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Access to real consulting life and projects.

    Cons

RB has strict hierarchy which cannot be overcome. Interns have limited access to the team as you don't sit together, and every time you go to the team room the team seems to be impatient and busy. I felt my skill set was barely utilized and there could have been much more communication.
Very bad work-life balance. My typical day was with nothing to do in the morning and the afternoon, but suddenly huge amount of research/translation requests come at around 5pm which need to be done by the next day.
By the way they don't give return offers. The only advantage you have is skipping the resume screen. Seems too eager to get rid of interns after been trained for months?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value the people and the talent. Set up proper training programs and give return offers.
