Pros

Good pay and benefits
fairly laid back (at least in my department)
reputation

Cons

Systems highly convoluted and complicated
High amount of "tribal knowledge" needed to perform jobs
no direction at all. They sit you at a desk and then watch to see how you handle yourself
poor supplier relations (pertinent to my job)

Advice to Management

Too much change and shuffling of middle and upper management.
Too much micro-managing from upper echelons of management.

    Pros

The gas turbine engines are interesting to work on.
Indianapolis is a good affordable location.
Like when you stop banging your head on a wall, it feels good when you leave.

    Cons

    1. Worst offices in America. The workplace environment in some offices is unbelievable.
    2. Definitely a good old boys network. Promotions are not based on ability.
    3. Women need not apply.
    4. Blacks need not apply.
    5. Many layoffs. Hire and fire mentality.
    6. Technical expertise has been lost; Management at this site is incompetent.

    Advice to Management

Management is hopeless, they will not listen to constructive criticism. A product line of obsolete engines will lead to closing this site within 5 years.
