Experienced industry professionals abound, but it falls on you to seek them out

Mount Vernon, OH

Former Employee – worked at Rolls-Royce as an intern for less than a year

Pros-People are generally helpful and knowledgeable
-Co-workers are friendly and love to interact with interns outside of work
-If you're interested in the industry, the Mt. Vernon site is a great intersection of industrial/engineering expertise and financial/accounting/project management knowledge
-Good experience for managerial accounting
-Plenty of opportunities to improve processes and distinguish your work

Cons-Small intern class can make interns feel isolated during the day
-Projects could be more challenging; interns often have a hard time staying occupied
-Too much "busy" work

Advice to Senior ManagementReview how the interns interact with HR. The hiring process (especially during the third party housing and testing phases) is overly confusing. HR doesn't seem to understand what interns want to learn about and doesn't facilitate self-improvement outside of the Indianapolis facilities.

Provide interns with challenging projects. Similar to how engineering interns review old RB211 problems, maybe finance/accounting interns could review some old business cases. This could allow management to guage the interns' abilities and provide interns a foundation from which to knowledgeably ask about how they can contribute to the division.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
