A very poor introduction to the restaurant industry.

I worked at Romano's Macaroni Grill

    Pros

I learned some basic restaurant industry skills. They were very quick to hire me and get me started.

    Cons

Unprofessional. Could not provide basics such as a copy of the floor plan or adequate training. For three consecutive weeks I was given one shift a week and cut after an hour. I still have not received the tips I am owed.

I worked at Romano's Macaroni Grill

    Pros

Great chance to hone customer service and multitasking skills. Good summer job while in college. Opportunity to learn how to work under pressure with waiters/waitresses asking you to send more customers to their tables and customers demanding a table soon.

    Cons

Having to bite your lip no matter what the customer says to you. Working on your feet all day and running around sometimes on the slippery kitchen floors (same for waiters). Having to restock/check on the bathroom.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You can never get enough advice on customer service. A few extra words in training about dealing with angry or crass customers or those who want to bribe their way to a table would be helpful.
