Pros

Roper's environment is one you really feel like you matter. Genuine concern for the patients and the community. There are many reasons why they are voted the best place to work in Charleston.

Cons

In my case an upper level manager had no clue what we did in our department. Immediate supervisor was great and as well as the one above this particular person. You have this most places.

Advice to Management

Be sure all of management is on the same page with the same understanding of its employees.

    Pros

This is a company that is constantly striving to remain competitive in a tough market to be competitive in. The politics of healthcare make intense scrutiny of every move a very real challenge, but RSF rises to that challenge and continues to do what's right.

    Cons

The politics of a competitive healthcare environment make it very stressful if you are not accustomed to that sort of thing.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time acknowledging and rewarding the people in positions whose positions are NOT hard to fill and not just those in which there is a shortage of good employees.

    Pros

The organization is staffed with well-respected physicians; facilities are new and state of the art.

    Cons

You can be an experienced professional, and have precisely the qualifications required for a position, but unless the HR manager wants to put you through to the hiring manager, forget it.

    Advice to Management

Please ensure that your job candidates aren't pre-selected, and don't exclude well-qualified applicants just because they don't come from one of your contacts.
